Located on the main Tsar Osvoboditel blvd. the church St. Nikolay the Miracle-Maker (or also know as the Russian church) is one of the most remarkable and emblematic buildings in Sofia. It was built more than 100 years ago (in 1914) by the Russian architect Preobrajenski and Russian workers in the traditions of the traditional Russian churches architecture from the 16-18th centuries.
To the left of the main entrance, you can find the crypt and the tomb of the former archbishop Seraphim - he was never canonized, but he is believed to make the wishes come true and that's why you can see there many local people who come and leave their post hand-written wishes into a box to the right of the tomb.
