Far from the city center, but close to the famous Boyana church and the beginning of the paths to the Boyana lake and the Boyana waterfall, you can find a small spring with often long queues of people waiting to draw water from it. This is the spring with the "living water", a water, which is believed to cure and protect from deceases. The water is always clean and fresh and has an extraordinary taste - it's coming directly from the Vitosha mountain and chemical experiments done in the last century have shown that it has a high content of silver. It's known that the silver has the ability to kill bacteria and microorganisms and perhaps this gives the healing effect of the water. Some also say that this spring was discovered back in Roman times and there are many different stories for cured people and even that it helped to blind people to start seeing again. If you plan a visit of the Boyana lake or waterfall, this spring could be a good first stop and a chance to taste this extraordinary water!
